We are looking for a highly motivated Project Manner of Medicinal Chemistry within Scientific Research in Laekna Therapeutics. You will work in collaboration with partners on small molecule drug discovery programs and be responsible for the successful execution and delivery of drug discovery project goals within timelines and budget. You will lead a 5-10 CRO FTE team and collaborate with other functional teams such as Biology, CADD, CMC and clinical team and in charge of the program and push it going forward to PCC stage.
Principle Roles & Responsibilities:
1.Participate and contribute to project assessment by literature search and market analysis.
2. Leading SAR analysis and compound design of medicinal chemistry program; guide team members (internal and external chemists) for synthetic route design and get through the synthesis route to obtain the final compounds; assist team members in analyzing synthetic experiments encountered in the experiment problems and propose solutions.
3. Manage project flow by working with multi-functional teams including chemistry, biology, DMPK, and toxicology. Responsible for project work plans to ensure that all tasks and objectives are completed on time and with high quality.
Qualification and Experience:
The ideal candidate will have a PhD degree in organic or medicinal chemistry or equivalent experience and have 3-5 years postdoc/industry experience or a master’s degree with 5-10 years’ experience with managerial experience and a strong history of accomplishment, productivity, initiative and innovation. Excellent communication and critical thinking skills are required, as well as strong functional expertise in medicinal chemistry. Experience with global pharmaceutical companies or local big pharmaceutical companies is a plus.
